Where Dissected Animals Come From?

I normally do frog and pig dissections at my school, but this year I was confronted by a student in my class named Alexis Guschel. You can follow her at http://aguschel.blogspot.com. She showed me a PETA video dealing with animal dissections along with the two companies I normally order preserved animals from. Wrong To Patent A Cure For Cancer?

Should companies or institutions be able to monopolize on scientific breakthroughs that will help fight diseases, cure cancer, eliminate aids, etc...? The ACLU has sued the US Patent and Trademark Office over other entities patenting genes related to breast and ovarian cancer. Though these entities have worked with these genes and discovered valuable information, should human, biological information of this nature be patented? Though scientists have made great breakthroughs, patenting future information concerning a gene that could cure cancer or other similar symptoms is very controversial. What are your thoughts?
